6th, 7th and 8th Grade Level Representatives
This committee is actively involved in facilitating ACE awards for the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. These awards are given to students who maintain and are recognized for "clean green" behavior sheets. This committee works with the BMS staff to schedule, plan and distribute these awards throughout the year.
6th and 7th Grade End of Year Celebration
This committee coordinates with both the Bailey Staff and the 8th grade end of year celebration committee to plan a special end of year event for the 6th and 7th grades.
8th Grade End of Year Celebration
Each year, the PTSO helps to celebrate the 8th grade students with an end of year celebration. This committee works in conjunction with the Bailey Staff to plan, organize and host the end of year celebration.
Advocacy
The Advocacy Fund provides financial assistance to our students in need; this fund is administered by our School Counselors. The fund chairperson serves as the liaison between the Executive Board, the Fund and the school counselors.
Back to School Picnic
To celebrate the return to school, this committee plans a fun event upon returning to school. This committee works in collaboration with the school's administration and the PTSO to plan, coordinate and execute the celebration.
Bronco Fund
In conjunction with the VP of Fundraising, this committee sets goals, plans and executes the PTSO’s annual fundraiser. This committee sets goals, develops plans for raising awareness, executes and tracks against goals.
Bronco Times
This committee works directly with the PTSO Executive Board and School Administration to create the weekly email communication via the Bronco Times. The committee coordinates with various committees to communicate events, photos, school updates, a message from the principal, calendar updates, etc.
Campus Beautification
This committee works directly with the PTSO Executive Board and Bailey’s School Administration to keep the school grounds beautiful. They also identify areas needed for landscaping or general maintenance and will schedule Beautification days throughout the year. This committee will also decorate for the holidays and maintain any plants/flowers at the front entrance, main lobby and school front office.
Character Education Awards
This committee works directly with School Administration to award selected students for specific Character Traits developed by the school. This committee works with Bailey staff to plan an event to celebrate these students, take photos of recipients and hand out awards each month.
Corporate Sponsorship
This Committee’s responsibility is to research local business that match up with our school’s current needs. This committee will aid in this process by approaching local businesses for their support of identified projects, school events and fundraisers. Sponsorships help offset any costs associated with producing an event.
Family Involvement Week
For one week out of the school year, BMS plans a Family Involvement Week. This committee works closely with the PTSO Executive Board and School Administration to choose events, develop any needed marketing materials to advertise and communicate to staff, students and parents and execute all events for the week.
Fundraisers
The fundraising committee works in cooperation with the administration to promote, host and facilitate events aimed at raising funds to support the students, staff and teachers at our school.
Grant Writing
This Committee’s responsibility is to research any educational/corporate/federal grants that match up with our school’s current needs. They facilitate any needed paperwork and approvals with the PTSO Board.
Honor Roll
This committee works with the school’s administrative staff to develop quarterly celebrations for A Honor Roll Students. They will plan the event and coordinate with the staff to execute.
International Night
For one night during our Family Involvement week, the PTSO hosts an International Night inviting families from all countries to set up tables to present information about their country and culture. This committee is responsible for recruiting families to volunteer to present their country and to assist the School Administration and the PTSO to plan and execute the event.
Platinum ACE
At the end of each school year, the Platinum ACE committee celebrates those students that maintained a Clean Green Behavior Sheet for the entire school year. These celebrations are done in coordination with the Grade Representative Committee and the School Administration to plan and execute this event.
PTSO Website
This committee is responsible for maintaining the PTSO website with the latest news & events, calendars and regular maintenance throughout the school year.
School Rewards
This Committee is responsible for raising funds through the cash back programs with local and national retailers - Harris Teeter VIC Rewards, Publix Rewards, Amazon Smile, etc. This committee facilitates the communication with the retailers and collection of any funding for the school.
Social Media Coordinator
This committee manages all PTSO social media accounts (i.e. Facebook and Instagram) by creating regular content, posting regularly, taking pictures of events, promoting upcoming events, etc. This committee will also manage any communication with parents and staff through these channels.
Staff Appreciation
We love our Staff at Bailey Middle School and this committee plans and executes staff appreciation events throughout the year. Bailey Bake Shop, gifts, school supplies, staff meals, gift cards are all ways we have shown appreciation in the past. This group will create a list of activities, work with the PTSO board, obtain needed volunteers and execute each event.
Student Store
The BMS Student Store is open each school day from 9:15am – 9:45am for students to purchase school supplies, 6th grade PE shirts and Bailey Spirit Wear. This committee manages inventory, coordinates with vendors for Spirit Wear design and ordering and runs the school store during other events at the school. This committee also organizes volunteers to work the Student Store each and every morning. Without all of our amazing volunteers, the student store would not be possible.
Welcome Desk
The PTSO has a welcome center located in the main lobby of the school and is open each morning from 9:15 – 10am. This committee works with the front office staff to sign in tardy students, answer questions, collect paperwork and allow guests into the building. This committee chair arranges for all volunteers to work the welcome desk.
